The Northwest Warriors launched the Women in Coaching initiative in the 2023–24 season to increase female representation behind the bench and build a supportive community for women in minor hockey coaching.

For the 2025–26 season, we’re introducing:

• Monthly virtual meetups will be held on the first Sunday of each month (Oct 5, Nov 2, Dec 7, Jan 4, Feb 1, Mar 1) to connect, share tips, and support each other
  
• Opportunities to join NWW Coach Nights and development sessions led by Matt Hunter, including Sunday morning Player Development ice times
• Access to Hockey Calgary’s Coach Night Series, including female-focused events
• Plans to co-host a female-specific Coach Night in the North in partnership with Hockey Calgary
• Female-only coach training opportunities through Hockey Alberta, including NCCP clinics and Coach 2 certification courses

This program reflects our commitment to developing confident, knowledgeable coaches while fostering inclusion and connection across the hockey community.
