Game & Conduct

The Northwest Warriors Hockey Association is committed to fostering an environment of respect, sportsmanship, and positive conduct, both on and off the ice.

Hockey is more than a game. It is a community built on teamwork, dedication, and mutual respect. Every player, coach, official, and parent contributes to creating a safe, supportive environment where our children can learn, grow, and enjoy the sport we all love.

Respect in Sport

We ask all Warriors families to uphold the values outlined in our Game & Conduct policies by:

  • Treating teammates, opponents, and officials with fairness and respect at all times and in all settings (games, practices, tournaments, team events, and beyond).
  • Using positive language and encouragement.
  • Demonstrating respectful behavior on and off the ice.
  • Remembering that effort and attitude matter more than the score.

Game & Conduct Expectations

Good sportsmanship starts before the puck drops and extends beyond the final whistle.

  • Coaches are mentors. Support their leadership and direction.
  • Officials are part of the game. Respect their decisions.
  • Parents set the tone. Cheer positively, supervise appropriately, and model composure for our young athletes.
  • Disrespect, abuse, or unsportsmanlike behaviour toward players, coaches, officials, or spectators has no place in our arenas or at any team-related event.

Coach and Parental Supervision

Players are under the supervision of coaches during games and practices. Parents play an essential role in ensuring players arrive prepared, follow team rules, and uphold the values of the Northwest Warriors community. This expectation applies equally to out-of-town tournaments and any other team-related event.

Together as Warriors

Together, we can continue to make the Northwest Warriors Hockey Association a place where athletes thrive, have fun, and develop not only as players but as respectful and responsible young people.
